Designing for life

We are a dynamic full‑service interior design studio with diverse experience in our portfolio, including a range of projects in both residential and commercial. We like to think of ourselves as designing for life.

We are grateful to be able to work and play here on the unceded Indigenous land belonging to the Coast Salish peoples, including the territories of the Lil’wat Nation and Squamish Nation.

Design is equal parts creative, talent, expertise, and execution. In a team stacked with talent, each member of the LRD team draws on their strengths and aesthetical preferences, shaping a balanced and collaborative collective. We also come to the table with a massive amount of respect for the build team and always promote open communication with the goal of a seamless execution of the project.

When you truly listen to people, you embark on an inquiry into who they are and how they function. While we transform spaces, in turn, that transformation will have a long‑lasting impact on your life. We aim to empower you to trust yourself and guide you toward a truly beautiful result. It is a huge responsibility and not something we take lightly. We are not here to impress our preferences on you, but to get to know you and understand which path we will take on the road to discovering your unique design.

Charlie Wilson
Associate Designer
BSCH DID

Originally from England, she began her design journey with a Foundation Diploma from the prestigious Leeds College of Art & Design, followed by an Honours Degree from the Manchester Fashion Institute, which led her into the fast‑paced world of fashion buying. After several years in the industry, she made the bold decision to step away and travel through South America, an experience that broadened her perspective and planted the seeds for a deeper connection to design.

Settling in Vancouver, she moved from rental to rental before purchasing and redesigning her own home, a process that reawakened a long‑standing passion for interiors and clarified a new creative path. Returning to school, she earned a Diploma with Distinction in Interior Design from BCIT. She now brings her background in fashion, travel, and interior design to her role at LRD Studio. Inspired by the Pacific West Coast, her work is grounded in a desire to help people create homes they love: spaces that feel like sanctuary and serve as the backdrop for life's most meaningful memories.

BENDS DID

Mayara is driven by the belief that residential spaces are among the most meaningful environments we shape: intimate, personal, and layered with the rhythms of everyday life. Deeply shaped by contrasts, Mayara grew up in a Japanese Italian family in Brazil, and having lived in Ecuador, Colombia, and Switzerland before landing in (and falling in love with) Canada, she developed an attentiveness to how different people live, and how place, through culture, climate, and material, shapes those lives.

Having relocated to Squamish to join the LRD Studio team, Mayara is eager to contribute to the ever evolving design dialogue of the Sea to Sky region, a place so iconic and emblematic of the West Coast lifestyle, as inspiring as it is beautiful.

Mayara approaches each project as an opportunity to thoughtfully support and extend the studio's design vision, balancing spatial clarity with materiality, proportion, and detail, while emphasizing context.

Ella Quinton
Associate Designer
BA Arch · MA Arch

Ella Quinton comes to us with a background in bespoke residential and commercial projects. She holds a BA and Master's degree in Architecture, beginning her career within English architecture, where she developed a strong appreciation for proportion, heritage, and thoughtful detailing. This foundation continues to shape her work, bringing a sense of balance and restraint to each project. She later transitioned into interior design, focusing more closely on the experience of living within the spaces she creates.

Ella has led high‑end residential projects from concept through to completion, working closely with clients, consultants, and trades at every stage. Her approach is collaborative and considered, combining creative intuition with technical clarity to guide projects with care and precision.

Her design perspective is influenced by a passion for mid‑century modern and West Coast design. She is drawn to the warmth, simplicity, and connection to natural materials in her work. With a strong focus on craftsmanship, materiality and context, Ella's attention to detail and thoughtful approach result in spaces that feel warm, functional, and enduring, designed to support and reflect the way people live.

Marketa Tobiasova
Operations Manager
LLM

Marketa Tobiasova graduated at West Bohemia University with a master's degree in law. After two years of pursuing a law career, she decided to take a break and move Canada to explore nature, culture and to learn English where she immediately fell in love with the land and people. Her passion for outdoor adventures brought her to the beautiful British Columbia. Growing up, Marketa was very much influenced by her mom, who is an Interior Designer, so it was only natural that she magnetically was attracted to working at LRD. We are so fortunate to have Marketa as our Operations manager. She is involved in many different tasks in an environment that is very close to her and reminds her of home. If she's not behind the computer, you'll probably find her running, skiing, climbing, biking and generally adventuring in the mountains.
