The Intermediate Interior Designer reports to the Principal and is a key member of the design team. As such their role aims to interpret and translate the design needs and desires of the client and apply them to a cohesive interior design solution while contributing valuable creative content to the design development. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for attention to detail and maintain positive interaction with our client base, the build team, as well as all of our reps and partners in the industry, as our projects progress through development to completion.

INTERMEDIATE INTERIOR DESIGNER

Qualified applicant must have the following: 
  • certificate/diploma from an NCIDQ/CIDA accredited Interior Design program or equivalent,
  • minimum 3 years experience in residential and/or commercial design,
  • membership with IDC/IDIBC,
  • ID/NCIDQ registration or aspiration to be registered in near future. 
 
Delegated tasks, either independently, or in collaboration will include, but are not limited to the following: 
·         Space planning
·         Millwork design
·         Creating design concept 
·         Design development
·         Site review & dimensioning
·         Creating base CAD drawings from site dimensions
·         Drafting pertaining to design development
·         Reviewing drawings
·         Finish research & selection
·         Furniture sourcing & budgeting
·         Site installs & Staging
·         Photoshoot Installs & coordination
·         Client meetings
 
In order to work as an effective member of our team, you will need the following skills: 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft office Suite: Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint,
  • proficiency in Auto-CAD LT, and Sketch-up,
  • experience with Adobe suite, especially Photoshop, and any other rendering programs such as Enscape, are an asset,
  • excellent communication skills,
  • must have strong attention to detail, be pro-active, and take initiative,
  • ability to adhere to studio standards for drawing and process guidelines,
  • strong understanding of elements & principles of design,
  • strong knowledge of millwork details,
  • strong understanding of buildable construction details,
  • familiar with BC building code and how to find pertinent info in the code documents,
  • familiar with process for building permit application,
  • working knowledge of google drive, zoom, quickbooks time, are an asset,
  • ability to complete a full set of construction drawings,
  • able to review deliverables to ensure they are ready for distribution,
  • ability to interpret and co-ordinate with Architectural, Electrical and Mechanical drawings.
  • able to work in a fast past environment and manage deadlines,
  • attend design meetings, and contribute to presentations,   
  • must be always open to learning, it never stops… and dedicated to working as a team.
